Larceny
Larceny is generally considered an offense against property. A person is guilty of larceny if he or she steals, or with intent to defraud obtains by a false pretence, or whoever unlawfully, and with intent to steal or embezzle, converts, or secretes with intent to convert, the property of another, whether they are in possession of such property or not.State laws may recognize two categories of larceny, grand larceny and petit larceny. Grand larceny is a felony based on exceeding a benchmark value of the stolen property as determined by state law. Petit larceny is a misdemeanor. Important Notice
